The Indus River Valley people contributed in many ways. They did many things that helped us all. From their city designs to their measuring, it helped us. They were very intelligent and discovered many things that help us now. The many things they did will never be forgotten. Thanks to them we have developed things they have given.
They had great city planning in their civilization. They had straight streets and right angled turns. They had large main streets and small secondary streets. They had a grid pattern similar to New York's. Their sewage system was also very amazing. They had drainage pipes that went from dwellings to large pits. It was a sign that they took cleanliness seriously.
They also developed the weights and measures. They used it for commercial use and trade purposes. It helped them when trading with places like Egypt and Mesopotamia. They also developed using cotton for weaving. They were thought to be the first to use cotton in that way. Their belief system also led to new beliefs. Their Vedic beliefs led to the development of Hinduism. With the help of the Aryans, their mix of religion created a historic Hinduism. (UCLA studies)
